Dr. Stacy Ammerman
Dr. Stacy Ammerman was raised in Southern Oregon and received a Bachelors of Science in Biology from San Diego State University and is a board certified OB/GYN. She obtained her medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her medical training was completed with a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Southern California.
Her interests include minimally invasive gynecology, and she has advanced training in laparoscopic surgery. She is recipient of the AAGL "Special Resident in Minimally Invasive Gynecology" award in addition to a UCLA research award. Her specialties also include the treatment and management of vaginal bleeding. Of significant focus is minimally invasive treatments for this condition such as hysteroscopy, myomectomy, and laparoscopic hysterectomy. Dr. Ammerman's work in the medical management of vaginal bleeding was recently published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her research is titled "A new progestogen-only medical therapy for outpatient management of acute, abnormal uterine bleeding".
Stacy is a strong advocate for women and enjoys empowering them through knowledge about their bodies and their health. Dr. Ammerman has taken a special interest in midlife and perimenopause/menopause care. She realized that there were large knowledge gaps and challenges in care for these women. She is one of only two North American Menopause Society's Certified Menopause Practitioners in the state of Hawaii. She loves to go in depth and come up with a personalized way to treat the symptoms of menopause, and how best mitigate the associated health risks that come along with these hormonal changes. When not working, she enjoys diving, stand up paddle boarding, boating, and hiking with her husband.

Dr. Christy Takemoto
Dr. Christy Takemoto grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended a six year combined undergraduate/medical school at University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Takemoto completed her OB/GYN residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois in 2007. She has been in the community of Maui since 2007.
Dr. Takemoto is a board-certified OB/GYN with a special interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. She has extensive experience with procedures such as Novasure (endometrial ablation) and Essure (hysteroscopic sterilization). She also performs laparoscopic hysterectomy and hysteroscopic/laparoscopic myomectomy.
Dr. Takemoto has served a two-year term as Chair of the OB/GYN department at Maui Memorial Medical Center during her time here.
Dr. Takemoto is a board-certified OB/GYN with a special interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and running.
Dr. Jennifer Leeper
Dr. Jennifer Leeper is from western Pennsylvania where she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology from Grove City College. She proceeded to the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and obtained her medical degree. She then did her residency training at Tripler Army Medical Center to become a board certified OB/GYN.
Jennifer enjoys providing a wide range of services for women in all stages of life to include basic wellness care and preventative services, treatment of acute gynecologic problems, surgical procedures for minor and major problems to include laparoscopic surgery. She is focused on providing evidence-based care using the most up-to-date studies and information available and tailoring the care to meet each individual patient’s needs.
On her down time, Jennifer enjoys the beauty of Maui through hiking, kayaking, snorkeling and diving.
